Major General Marat Ospanov was left in pre-trial detention center in connection with the murder of military personnel

The military court of appeal left in the pre-trial detention center the former commander of the 6th motorized rifle division of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Marat Ospanov with the call sign “Gyurza”, accused of the mass murder of military personnel. Kommersant reports this.

He is accused under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of two or more persons in a helpless state, committed by a group of persons with particular cruelty in order to conceal another crime”), Part 4 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Excess of official powers with the use of torture”) and Article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Desecration of the bodies of the dead”).

According to law enforcement officials, Ospanov ordered his deputy to detain and punish several subordinates who allegedly voiced dissatisfaction with the conditions of service. They were sent to the basement, where they were tied up, beaten and tortured.

As Kommersant reports on its Telegram channel, we are talking about the massacre of seven servicemen. They were bombarded with grenades and finished off with a pistol. After this, the bodies were destroyed.
