The head of the CFDA, Stephen Kolb, commented on the suspension after the scandal at Fashion Week

The head of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Stephen Kolb, responded to his removal from his post after the scandal at New York Fashion Week. He published posts on this topic in stories on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a company recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).

Kolb admitted that he reviewed the footage taken during the attack on the animal rights activist. According to him, he did not recognize himself in them. “I am going on voluntary leave and working with a specialist to ensure this does not happen again. I am very sorry and I take responsibility for what happened,” he said.

In addition, Kolb said that he decided to personally meet with the leadership of the organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and also apologize to the affected activists.

During the autumn collection of the Cos brand, five protesters took to the catwalk along with fashion models, holding posters with slogans. Kolb could not ignore what was happening and forcibly took the posters from them. At the same time, he covered the mouth of one animal rights activist with his hands, and threw his partner to the floor and wrapped his legs around her. After the incident, PETA representatives said they were going to sue him.
