Child Protection and Crime Inquiries Started with CİMER Applications

ASLIHAN ALTAY KARATAŞ Ankara - According to the information in the first issue of CİMER Bulletin, action was taken upon the allegation that a 13-year-old child in Bursa İnegöl was forced into marriage, and the governorship and district police department were mobilized. The child's statement was taken by the Children's Bureau accompanied by an avocate, and then the child was handed over to his mother and the problem was resolved. The family, who learned that their 13-year-old child was subjected to qualified sexual abuse in Dalaman, Muğla, stated that the person was released and applied to CİMER to demand justice. The application was forwarded to the judicial authorities. After the judicial proceedings, the suspect was arrested and sent to the penal institution. The suspect from Izmir Bornova, who claimed that he would massacre children in schools, was caught upon the application made to CİMER. A citizen who went to a psychologist appointment in Mersin applied by stating that the person he was seeing did not have a diploma, that he was harassed and that he was having a harder time psychologically because of this. Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspect in question.
