They confirm the death of Iván Romano Ramos, Alcalá de Guadaíra police officer, in the Toledo accident

The mayor of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), Ana Isabel Jiménez Contreras, has confirmed that a resident of this town, Iván Romano Ramos, a 42-year-old national police officer, is among those killed in the train accident in Urda (Toledo), in which a total of 69 people have lost their lives.

As the Consistory has reported on its official channels, they have shown their "deep regret" and have conveyed their "sincere condolences" and "all our affection" to the victim's loved ones, "whom we accompany in these moments of immense pain."

"We extend our condolences to the families of all the deceased, as well as our wishes for strength and a speedy recovery to the injured. Alcalá de Guadaíra joins their pain and remains at their side. May they rest in peace," they concluded.

Also from the Unified Police Union (SUP) they have mourned his death after several days of calls on social networks to find his whereabouts. "The SUP mourns the death of Iván Romano Ramos, our National Police colleague. He was 42 years old. His family, his friends and all those who shared with him the vocation to serve are in our thoughts," they said in a statement.

Days ago, the police union spread its image on networks, where it explained that Iván Romano was traveling in car 8 of the AVE that crashed in Urda and his family could not find him.

Andalusia already registers 16 deaths in the event

With this confirmed death, Andalusia now has 16 fatalities in the serious railway accident in Urda (Toledo). The incident has left a provisional balance of 69 fatalities and more than 200 injured, in convoys in which a total of 538 people were traveling.

Among the deceased is the president of the CEOE Foundation and former Minister of Employment and Social Security during the PP governments, Fátima Báñez, who was traveling in one of the seats on the Iryo train, which was hit by a Renfe AVE.

Also among the fatalities are the father of the Sevillian actor César Vicente, known for his roles in films such as Pain and Glory, and Antonio Vázquez, representative of the bullfighter Pablo Aguado.
