Statement from President Erdoğan on fund investigation: Those who commit fraud will be held accountable

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attends the Opening Meeting of the Legislative Year with AK Party Deputies at the AK Party Congress Center.

In his speech, Erdogan touched upon the fund investigation initiated after the developments in the capital markets. Erdoğan said, "Those who violate the rights of the nation, those who gain unfair advantage, and those who commit fraud will be held accountable." he said.

Noting that their primary goal is the payment of citizens' savings, Erdoğan said, "All relevant units, especially our economic management, are following the issue very carefully and taking precautions." he said.

IZMIR SLOGANS WERE PUSHED

Also present in the hall is Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who is expected to join the AK Party today.

President Erdoğan's speech was occasionally interrupted due to Izmir slogans. Thereupon, Erdogan intervened and said, "Izmir is different today, very enthusiastic." he said.

THANKS TO BAHÇELİ, CALL TO THE OPPOSITION

In his speech, Erdoğan thanked MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for the statements he made yesterday and called on the opposition. MHP leader Bahçeli called for Erdoğan to be a presidential candidate once again and said that the necessary legal and social structure existed for this.

Calling on the opposition to use a constructive language, Erdoğan said, "Despite the lack of courtesy at the opening of the parliament, I want to see a more responsible tone from the opposition in the new legislative year, and at least I maintain my hope on this issue. We will open the doors of dialogue wide, use a constructive language, and not give up common sense." he said.

“İZMİR IS VERY ENTHUSIASTIC”

Highlights from President Erdoğan's speech are as follows:

- Izmir is different today, very enthusiastic.

- Our Gazi Assembly entered the recess by displaying an unprecedented example of consensus in our political history. We attach importance to keeping the spirit of compromise represented by the 467 votes in favor of the framework law alive in the new legislative year.

- We need, more than anything else, the creation of a social basis that will bridge the distances between different segments of society. Our offer of competition within consensus finds response and Turkish politics shows that a new style of politics is possible.

- The opposition must also support our efforts with its constructive attitude, contribute, and show the virtue of meeting in line with common goals by putting their battle axes to the side when necessary. As the AK Party and the People's Alliance, we do not shy away from dialogue on any issue that will be for the good of the nation.

"WE ARE PLEASED THAT THE FEVER IN INFLATION HAS STARTED TO FALL"

- Inflation is one of the areas where we feel the negative impact of rising oil prices due to conflicts in our region. According to the Central Bank's calculations, the annual impact of the war on inflation is in the 7-point range. It is a fact that instability and increasing fuel prices are challenging the whole world. In light of these parameters, consumer prices increased by 1.84 percent and producer prices increased by 2.07 percent on a monthly basis in September. Annual inflation decreased to 29.73 percent, thus falling below 30 percent for the first time in the last 5 years. We are pleased that the fire in rent, education and food price inflation, which is straining our nation, has begun to subside. We are not where we want inflation, we still have a serious distance ahead of us.

FUND INVESTIGATION

- We address the problem that arises in a certain part of the fund market and take the necessary steps with great determination. Now, first of all, this issue has a legal aspect. Regarding the legal aspect of the judicial issue, we do what needs to be done within the framework of our Constitution and laws, in coordination with our other institutions. Everyone should know this; Those who violate the rights of the nation, those who gain unfair advantage, and those who commit fraud will be held accountable.

- All relevant units, especially our economic management, are following the issue very carefully and taking precautions. We carry out the necessary administrative and legal processes to ensure that our citizens' savings are paid as soon as possible, without burdening the public.
