This year, I have the pleasure of being with you at the 12th Turkish Medical World Congress and TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science, Service and Incentive Awards Ceremony. I would like to express my gratitude to all our guests, you have brought joy to our beloved Istanbul.
As you know, yesterday, we successfully held the 13th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Organization of Turkish States in Ankara. Previously, we celebrated our 29 October Republic Day with much more enthusiasm this year, with the presence of our distinguished guests from the Turkish states. Now, we are together with our brothers from the Turkish world on the occasion of another ceremony. I wholeheartedly congratulate our Ministry of Health and the Presidency of Turkish Health Institutes for successfully organizing this meaningful organization that keeps the pulse of medical science and bringing us together.
I send my greetings and love to every member of our health army, who works day and night in our 81 provinces, providing healing to the patients, and instilling hope and wisdom in the relatives of the patients. Our doctors, nurses, caregivers, technicians; In other words, almost all of our healthcare professionals work at a really high tempo, working devotedly day and night to ensure that our nation can quickly access quality healthcare services.
"OUR VISION IS THE HEALTHY Türkiye CENTURY"
Our doctors, who, in the late Erdem Bayazıt's succinct words, are "sleeping off their white clothes", often make efforts to cure their problems by sacrificing the time they spend for themselves and their families, sleeping less and resting when necessary. On this occasion, those who have contributed to our health services reaching today's levels, whether in the public or private sector; Today, I would like to thank once again all our brothers and teachers who contribute to the construction of a healthier Türkiye with their efforts, efforts and diligence.
I find the 12th congress, which centers on the health approach planned in line with the Healthy Türkiye Century Vision, extremely strategic in terms of evaluating new road maps.
I congratulate the scientists and companies whose awards we will present in different categories.
Today, Mr. Aziz Sancar, whose achievements we are proud of as a nation, is among us.
Medicine and medicine are of vital importance to us. First of all, our belief values are based on living and keeping alive. We see killing one person as killing all humanity, and keeping one person alive as keeping all humanity alive. We have developed world-famous physicians.
With the Republic, medical knowledge was improved and reinforced. In medicine, knowledge, skill and ability are important.
The rules and norms called medical ethics today have already been considered as rules that a physician must follow. Our scientists continue to carry out groundbreaking work. I find it very valuable that our past successes are continued with new inventions and works. I know that our young people will achieve great success in the future by taking you as an example.
"WE NOW PRODUCE MEDICAL DEVICES"
Today, revolutionary developments are taking place in medicine, like other fields. With the introduction of artificial intelligence and digital developments, significant progress is made at every stage of the process. We are constantly pursuing better. We have been fighting for this for 24 years.
We are working hard to strengthen our health infrastructure with our investments, supports and incentives. Especially in healthcare, with the domestic production model, we now produce our medical devices and equipment instead of buying them from abroad. We use our respirators, which we produce with our own means in Batman, both in our hospitals and export them to 45 countries.
We developed and put into use the heart-lung machine, which very few countries in the world can produce, entirely with our own resources. Our goal is to produce our own ultrasound device. Hopefully, by the end of the next 2 years, we will produce 700 ultrasound devices annually with at least a 71 percent localization rate.
We see these as a start. We will achieve more productive success. Just as we wrote a legend in the Defense Industry, we will achieve the same success in the health sector. We will continue to be at the top in health with your strong support.
