Ganoderma lucidum planting under the forest in Jinkeng Village, Qingyuan helps farmers increase their income, and industrial benefits are beginning to show

China News Service, Qingyuan, July 2 (Reporter Zhang Lu) Recently, the Ganoderma lucidum planting base (referred to as the "base") under the forest in Jinkeng Village, Sanjiang Town, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province has entered the peak harvest season. The villagers took advantage of the fine weather to shuttle through the forest to pick, sort and dry their crops.

Since planting in April 2026, the base has harvested about 520 kilograms of fresh Ganoderma lucidum, with an estimated output value of 45,000 yuan. The village collective economy has significantly improved, and industrial benefits have initially emerged.

So far, the base has led to stable employment for 8 surrounding villagers, and has paid out a total of more than 20,000 yuan in labor fees, allowing villagers to achieve stable employment at home, and more effectively promote the quality and efficiency of the village's collective economy.

Jinkeng Village has a forest coverage rate of over 90% and a mild climate. In the past, the rich mountain forest resources were not effectively developed, and villagers guarding the "green bank" had difficulty finding ways to get rich. Today, this formerly idle forest space has become a "green treasure basin" for villagers to increase their income and become rich.

It is reported that in recent years, the village "two committees" teams have gone out for inspection and study many times. Based on the local ecological endowment, they have identified the planting of imitation wild purple Ganoderma lucidum under the forest as a breakthrough to strengthen the village's collective economy.

In order to ensure the implementation of the industry, Jinkeng Village has established in-depth cooperation with the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the technical team of the South China Botanical Garden to introduce cutting-edge strain cultivation technology and understory standardized planting management models into the understory base. Experts regularly go to the village to provide full guidance on strain selection, cultivation management, and pest control. At the same time, two local technical backbones are trained to teach scientific planting methods step by step to protect the quality of Ganoderma lucidum.

Jinkeng Village innovatively implements the "Party Branch + Cooperative + Base + Farmers" model. The village party branch leads the unified operation of the cooperative, and farmers can participate through land transfer, employment, etc.

According to reports, in the next step, Jinkeng Village will delve into the Ganoderma industry chain, actively develop Ganoderma slices, Ganoderma wine, Ganoderma soup dumplings and other deeply processed products, continue to improve product added value and brand influence, and turn small Ganoderma into a big industry. At the same time, we will further improve the mechanism of linking farmers with farmers, allowing more people to share the value-added benefits of the industry, and truly make the "jelly grass" under the forest a "rich grass" that promotes rural revitalization and drives villagers to continue to increase their income, injecting continuous power into rural revitalization.
