Iranian President Perzeskian: US pressure on Iran has reached a "critical and dangerous" stage

Iranian President Perzeskian flew to New Delhi, India, on the 11th to attend the "BRICS" summit.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on the 11th that the United States' pressure on Iran has reached a "critical and dangerous" stage.

Speaking in India on the eve of the BRICS summit, Pezzeskian pointed out that "the world today is going through an extremely complex period," and the use of economic pressure will only exacerbate this complexity.

"Iran has been subject to severe sanctions in recent years; these pressures have reached a critical and dangerous stage in recent months as the United States and Israel have carried out military aggression (against Iran)," Petzeskian said.

The United States and Israel jointly attacked Iran at the end of February this year, triggering conflicts in the Middle East. Decades of international sanctions have long made Iran's economy vulnerable. In retaliation, Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a key channel for global energy transportation, causing global energy prices to soar.

"When a country's trade, energy, infrastructure and financial systems face political and military pressure, the impact will extend beyond the country's borders," Petzeskian said.
