Accelerate the construction of new generation communication network and build a solid digital base for high-quality development

In the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”, various regions have accelerated the construction of new generation communication networks and laid a solid foundation for high-quality development.

The new generation communication network includes 5G, 5G-A, 6G and other mobile communication networks, as well as 10G optical network, satellite Internet, etc., realizing the deep integration of communication, perception, computing, intelligence and other functions.

At present, the construction of new generation communication networks is advancing steadily, and the coverage is getting wider and wider. In Jiagedaqi in the Greater Khingan Mountains, the base station is built deep into the forest sea, and the images of the uninhabited forest area are transmitted to the command platform in real time, giving fire prevention monitoring a "clairvoyance". In the Qinba Mountains, the network is being rolled out deep into the mountains, and regular inspections by drones and unmanned vehicles have greatly improved the efficiency of road management and maintenance in mountainous areas. In the Bohai Sea, builders have relied on oil and gas platforms and other facilities to set up more than 60 base stations of various types to relay signals, allowing this sea area to achieve global interconnection.

Integrated applications continue to expand. At present, my country has built more than 26,000 industrial 5G private networks and 1,260 5G factories. The industrial Internet has covered all 41 major industrial categories. In this new energy vehicle factory in Hefei, Anhui Province, industrial 5G covers all aspects of stamping, welding, and final assembly. The smart production line operates at high speed, and a complete vehicle can be rolled off the production line in one minute. At the Yimin open-pit mine in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, unmanned electric mining trucks are stepping up operations. In September this year, the country's first 5G-A gigabit uplink verification in an open-pit mine scenario was completed here. Under the command of the dispatch center, nearly a hundred mining trucks realized automatic loading and unloading, automatic obstacle avoidance, automatic power replacement, and 24-hour efficient operation.

Facing the future, 6G technology is accelerating from laboratories to applications. At the Purple Mountain Laboratory in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, scientific researchers are conducting a new round of 6G network multi-base station collaborative sensing capability testing. 6G base stations and signals can not only communicate, but can also sense the movement of objects like radar. In the future, this technology will provide faster response guarantees for autonomous driving and other applications.
