He Xiumian, chairman of the Zhunan Town People's Representative Association in Miaoli County without party membership, ran for mayor of Zhunan Town and was detained by the court on suspicion of vote bribery. He Xiumian's campaign headquarters was established today (4th). I was not able to attend, but Miaoli County Mayor Zhong Dongjin and other local blue-camp people attended the platform. Zhong Dongjin also emphasized that He Xiumian was wronged and implored the villagers to unite and support him to the end.

The founding meeting of He Xiumian's campaign headquarters was held this morning at the planned campus of Zhaonan Elementary School. Local figures including Zhong Dongjin, legislator Chen Chaoming, county speaker Li Wenbin, deputy speaker Zhang Shufen, Zhunan Town Mayor Fang Jinxing, former county magistrate Xu Yaochang and other people attended to support the campaign. Zhong Dongjin said that God played a joke on He Xiumian, "a gift falling from the sky hit her." In fact, whether it was from friends who handled this case, or from friends in the lawyer and judicial circles, everyone unanimously concluded that He Xiumian was wrongly accused.

Zhong Dongjin said that he, Chen Chaoming, Fang Jinxing, Xu Yaochang, as well as Li Wenbin, Zhang Shufen, as well as Zhunan local MPs Chen Bihua, Zhang Jialing, Liao Yingli and others decided to fully support He Xiumian.

Zhong Dongjin emphasized that this kind of injustice cannot be allowed to happen in Zhunan. Zhong Dongjin also said that He Xiumian was concerned about Zhunan's affairs, including education, childcare policies and transportation construction. If He Xiumian is elected as the mayor of Zhunan, Zhunan will be "one county and town" and he will fully support the sustainable development of Zhunan.

The Miaoli District Prosecutor's Office received a report that He Xiumian was suspected of giving out gift boxes containing tea and dried fruits with a market value of about 300 yuan to multiple voters for election bribery. The prosecutors and police launched two waves of large-scale searches on the 23rd and 24th of last month, summoning 29 people to the case. After the prosecutor resumed the hearing, he determined that He Xiumian and other eight people were involved in voting bribery, and applied to the court for detention. On the 25th of last month, the Miaoli District Court ruled that He Xiumian and other seven people were detained and prohibited from hearing.
