President Trump strengthens criticism of Canada... Call for boycott of Bombardier

President Trump posted on the social media platform TruthSocial on the 7th (local time), saying, "Now stop selling Bombardier in the United States. Their products are not good." Bombardier is a Canadian business and private jet manufacturer.

“More than 50% of their sales come from the United States. They depend on American buyers, American companies, American airports and American services to make a living,” Trump said. “Meanwhile, Canada is blocking our great American banks and companies.”

President Trump criticized Canada for blocking American jet manufacturer Gulfstream, a competitor of Bombardier, from doing business in the country, calling it "completely unfair and unfair."

“If they want our market, they need to produce it here in the United States. They need to stop treating America like a piggy bank,” he urged.

He then wrote, "Buy American. Fly American airliners. Enjoy American alcohol and beverages. Sail on American lakes." ‘Lake of America’ is the name given by President Trump when he said he would rename ‘Lake Ontario’ between Canada and the United States.

President Trump's remarks reiterated the existing argument that Canada is dependent on the large U.S. market but is blocking U.S. companies from entering Canada.

President Trump said on the 2nd, "All major Canadian banks are located here (in the United States), and this is their biggest source of profit. But they do not allow American banks to enter Canada."

While Gulfstream was unable to do business for nine years because it did not receive certification from the Canadian government, Bombardier was operating freely in the U.S., so he claimed that he used tariffs as a weapon to correct this.

The previous day, President Trump said, "The imbalance between the U.S. and Canadian dollars is unacceptable. It has been that way for years, but not anymore," implying that Canada is using the weakening value of its currency to export to the United States.
