Putin and the US special envoy met for more than three hours and agreed to suspend attacks on Kyiv for three days

Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with US special envoys Jared Kushner and Wykov in the Kremlin today for about three hours until late at night. The Kremlin stated that the two sides had "extremely candid" talks, and the US side put forward "several ideas" on how to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Agence France-Presse reported that Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters: "The U.S. representatives are fully prepared for this trip."

Oshakov pointed out: "They not only once again expressed their hope that the war will end as soon as possible, but also proposed some possible ways to promote a solution."

He said: "This dialogue is constructive and extremely candid. Both parties trust each other. Russia is confident in achieving the set goals."

Reuters reported that Vladimir Putin praised U.S. President Donald Trump for his efforts to end the roughly four-and-a-half-year-old war between Russia and Ukraine. Trump hinted yesterday that the United States had proposed a new plan to end the war, but did not elaborate further.

Putin pointed out that although Trump knew that he was facing a difficult situation, "he continued to work hard to help promote a solution and contribute to resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine."

Russian state-run media reported that the meeting lasted about three hours and ended after 11 pm in Moscow, and released footage of the US convoy leaving the Kremlin.

As in past talks, Putin was accompanied by his foreign policy adviser Oshakov and investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The two also welcomed two U.S. envoys at the airport, took them to a restaurant, and then accompanied them to the Kremlin.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin has ordered the military not to attack the Ukrainian capital Kiev for three days starting from midnight today. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff will next travel to Kiev.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had spoken to two U.S. envoys who are expected to visit Kiev tomorrow and that the Ukrainian army will not launch an attack on Moscow before the 7th of this month.

Putin also mentioned in his opening speech that Ukraine's offensive against Russia has weakened recently and promised to ensure the personal safety of U.S. negotiators.
