Two robbers arrested in a bazaar in Los Palacios and Villafranca

The Civil Guard has arrested two people as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with violence and intimidation committed in a food establishment in Los Palacios and Villafranca (Seville), according to the Armed Institute in a press release.

The events occurred on August 26 when three men arrived near a bazaar in said town aboard a moped, hiding their faces with hoods, panties and balaclavas.

During the robbery, one of those involved pointed a short gun at the owner of the establishment, threatening to kill him while his companion entered the counter to take the proceeds.

The actions of the victims, who resisted the assault, caused a violent struggle that ended with two people injured. Both were later treated by medical services but due to the seriousness of the events and the subsequent dissemination of the images captured by the security cameras, a strong social alarm was caused among the residents and merchants of the town.

After becoming aware of the events, the Civil Guard began an investigation to identify and locate those responsible. La Benemérita has indicated that the exhaustive analysis of the images from the security cameras, together with the compilation of different evidence obtained during the investigation, made it possible to fully identify one of the alleged perpetrators, specifically the individual who would have accessed the cash register area.

Once the identity of this person was established, the agents deployed a device to arrest them. In parallel, the agents related that the detainee was involved in three other alleged crimes of robbery with force committed in different establishments during the month of August.

To commit these acts, he would have used a vehicle previously stolen in the municipality of Gelves (Seville). Continuing with the investigations, the Civil Guard identified the second person involved in the robbery and therefore proceeded to arrest him.

This second detainee would allegedly be the person who was wielding the alleged firearm during the robbery. Likewise, the Civil Guard has pointed out that he is attributed with his alleged participation in two vehicle thefts committed in Los Palacios in the days prior to the assault.

The first detainee is allegedly charged with one crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, one crime of vehicle theft and three crimes of robbery with force. The second detainee is allegedly charged with one crime of robbery with violence and intimidation and two crimes of vehicle theft.
