YAROSLAVL, Sep 10 – RIA Novosti. A criminal case was opened against a resident of Yaroslavl who bought her 13-year-old son a dirt bike with which the boy caused a traffic accident, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Yaroslavl Region reported.

"A criminal case has been opened against a local resident on suspicion of a crime under Part 1 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involvement of a minor by a person who has reached eighteen years of age in committing actions known to pose a danger to their life)," the statement says.

According to the Investigative Directorate, in July 2026, the Yaroslavl resident purchased a dirt bike not intended for public roads, including not being equipped with turn signals or mirrors, and then allowed her 13-year-old son, who had not undergone proper training, to ride it. He rode the motorcycle on public roads.

In August, the boy lost control and hit an 11-year-old cyclist. Both of them were injured.
