Disneyland Paris: Space Mountain transforms into “Return to the Moon”

Back to the Moon for Space Mountain. Disneyland Paris will transform its iconic attraction by drawing inspiration from its first version, “From the Earth to the Moon”, a return to basics hoped for by fans for several years, the amusement park announced during the D23 convention this Saturday, August 15 in Anaheim, California.

The Parisian version of this roller coaster present in five of the six Disney park complexes around the world, opened in 1995, is unique in that it is inspired by the world of Jules Verne and was flanked by a cannon which propels the trains as if they were sent into space, with a more intense ride than in the other versions.

The attraction will therefore close at the end of 2027 for several months of technical renovation, and Disneyland Paris will take the opportunity to abandon the Star Wars theme which has adorned it since 2017. Visitors will be transported to “an idealized period of the very first trips to the Moon…”
