Riot at demonstrations in Brussels and Liège, charges and tear gas

Unrest also occurred this morning in Brussels and Liège during the procession called by some student collectives against the government's austerity policies and to denounce the conditions of teaching and schools, in the wake of the French protests.

Tensions with the police, with charges and tear gas being thrown, were recorded in Brussels in the Gare du Midi area and then in the central Place de la Bourse. A few hundred young people are participating in the demonstration.

Local media report tensions with the police even during the demonstration in Liège, with the use of water cannon trucks to disperse the demonstrators.
