DMM rejects the claim of 'Mecca Agreement protest in Pakistan'

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Counter Disinformation Center (DMM) denied the allegations that the people of Pakistan took to the streets to protest the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, to which Türkiye is also a party.

In the statement made by DMM, it was stated that the claims made in some social media accounts and media outlets that "Pakistani people took to the streets to protest the Mecca Agreement, to which Türkiye is also a party", are completely untrue.

In the statement, the following was noted:

"The images used in the posts in question are not related to the diplomatic processes or any agreement between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as claimed. As a result of the investigations, it has been determined that the images in question belong to domestic policy-oriented demonstrations previously held in Pakistan. It is kindly requested not to rely on manipulative posts and perception operations that try to mislead the public by targeting diplomatic initiatives aimed at reinforcing peace, tranquility and stability, in which our country also takes part."
