World Motocross Championship ended in Afyonkarahisar with 500 thousand spectators

Mahmut Nedim Akülke told the AA reporter that they finished the championship without any accidents and in a beautiful way.

Stating that they aim to have a high level of participation in the organization every year, Akülke said, "We closed the organization, which started on Wednesday and ended on Sunday, with a record of over 500 thousand spectators in both the race and festival parts." he said.

Akülke explained that the races went very well, along with the attendance record, and said:

"The world champion of the World Motocross Championship MX1 emerged from the lands where the victory was won in Afyonkarahisar. Jeffrey Herlings accepted his championship and celebrated in Afyonkarahisar, although the Chinese and Australian legs of the championship remained. This means a lot for us."

"The race will expand to 5 categories next year"

Mahmut Nedim Akülke stated that the Afyonkarahisar track in the World Motocross Championship is now a classic and said, "The reason why it is a classic is that an integrated festival of sports, culture and art is held in 5 days, which is unique in the world. This made us very happy." he said.

Explaining that they met with many of the athletes from 25 different countries, Akülke said:

"We met with International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) officials and race managers. Indeed, Afyonkarahisar Motor Sports Center and Afyonkarahisar motocross area are incredibly appreciated and popular. They are already trying to make plans for next year. I would also like to give some news. The race we held in 4 categories this year will increase to 5 categories next year. Next year, women will also be here. In other words, we are improving and improving every year."
