Duo is arrested with drone support suspected of stealing fuel from train in Votuporanga district

Two men were arrested on suspicion of stealing around 100 liters of fuel from a train in Simonsen, district of Votuporanga (SP), in the early hours of Saturday (7).

According to the Environmental Military Police, the teams used a drone with a thermal camera to monitor the railway network and locate suspicious movements in the vicinity of the tracks.

The pair tried to flee when they noticed the police officers approaching, but ended up being detained while transferring the product into two gallons. At the scene, police officers also found six other empty containers ready to be filled.

Hoses and hand tools were also seized which, according to the detainees themselves, were used to unlock and drain locomotive tanks.

The suspects were taken to the Civil Police Flagrant Center in Votuporanga, where they remained at the disposal of the Justice Department. The intervention was part of operations Impacto and Piracema, in joint action between the Environmental Military Police and area policing.
