🔴 What does the image look like?
Published on Facebook, where it went viral on Wednesday (7), the image imitates what would be a G1 report with this title: "Lula: 'Woman is like corn, she was born with hair and can now eat'". The subtitle says: "The president's statement during an event in São Paulo had repercussions on social media and generated criticism."
The photo has colors and branding that imitate those of the portal, dated April 22, 2025. It also displays an image of President Lula (PT) speaking.
⚠️ Why is it #FAKE?
g1 has never published a report with this title or content: it is a montage. Lula also did not make the statement attributed to him: there is no record of a statement with this content, publications on the president's official social networks or on the federal government's communication channels.
The montage also has inconsistencies in relation to the g1 truth website:
the font in the fake title is larger than the real typography; the lying version does not display the author field; in the real version, the date of publication is below the subtitle, but in the fake version, it appears at the base of the text; g1 does not display a site editorial panel at the top of the page.
Furthermore, the photo of Lula that appears in the lying content is more recent than the date of the false report. Fato ou Fake performed a reverse search on Google Lens for the photo — this process allows us to discover the origin of images circulating on the internet.
The result showed that the president's photo is from June 12, 2026, written by photographer Evaristo Sa and published by the AFP agency.
The caption reads: "The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, speaks during the announcement of a line of credit to finance motorcycles for transport app workers, in Brasília, on June 12, 2026."
Fato ou Fake also consulted the Presidency's press office, which stated, via email: "At no point in his career did President Lula advocate pedophilia. President Lula has historically publicly condemned this crime and, as president, sanctioned laws that expand the protection of children and adolescents and toughen penalties for crimes of violence and sexual exploitation."
The note also says: "The Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic repudiates the dissemination of false information, using the image of the president, which aims solely and exclusively to misinform the population, weaken institutions and manipulate public opinion."
