Moscow: The closure of the consulate in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin "destroys" relations with Germany

Lavrov said in statements to Russia-1 channel journalist Pavel Zarubin: “Leipzig Airport... they found a drone... they said it was Russian, and no one bothered to investigate. This is, to a large extent, the beginning of a real war.”

The minister pointed out that the German authorities announced the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the termination of the agreement related to the activities of the Russian House in Berlin.

Lavrov said: “I remember that before the outbreak of World War II, or rather the Great Patriotic War, the Germans also closed their diplomatic missions.”

Lavrov considered that summoning Russian ambassadors to the interior ministries of Western countries was due to the Europeans' desire to create a "superficial impression," and said: "They care about the apparent effect (of their steps)... They have decided that they can hold us responsible for another incident."

In early August, Leipzig police announced that a drone carrying explosives had been found in a shipping security area. Germany accused Russia of being behind the incident without providing concrete evidence, while Moscow described the incident as a "hastily planned provocation."

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Germany does not have any evidence of the existence of alleged threats from Russia, and linked the accusations directed at Moscow regarding the march incident in Leipzig to the tense internal political situation in Germany.
