The State Duma will discuss the protection of social rights of citizens this week

The State Duma will consider issues of protecting the social rights of citizens and increasing the efficiency of the budget ruble at plenary sessions this week, said the Chairman of the House of Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.

“The Council of the State Duma has determined the work agenda for the coming week. Among the priorities are issues of strengthening social guarantees for citizens, protecting their financial rights, as well as increasing the efficiency of the budget ruble,” said Volodin, whose words are quoted on the State Duma website.

The State Duma website clarifies that on Tuesday deputies will consider bills on the execution of the federal budget for 2025, as well as the budgets of state extra-budgetary funds of the Russian Federation. It is added that on Wednesday the deputies plan to discuss during the first reading changes to the federal law “On Insurance Pensions”: it is proposed to establish clear rules and deadlines for indexing the amounts of insurance pensions not paid on time based on a court decision.

“Also on October 14, in the first reading, the State Duma will discuss a bill aimed at additional support for the families of military personnel, police officers and other law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. Its adoption will allow for the indexation of one-time benefits taking into account inflation at the time of payment,” says the website of the House of Parliament.

In addition, on the agenda for this week is a bill that will further protect the rights of consumers when using installment services. Deputies will discuss it during the first reading on Thursday, the message said.
