The first Cross-Strait Innovation and Development Week was held in Shanghai and five results were released

China News Service, Shanghai, September 29 (Reporter Miao Lu) On September 29, the first "Cross-Strait Innovation and Development Week" co-sponsored by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government was held in Shanghai. With the theme of "New Vision to Win the Future", the event held one main seminar, five parallel seminars and a series of supporting activities, aiming to thoroughly implement the strategic deployment of the "15th Five-Year Plan" on promoting cross-Strait economic cooperation and deepening cross-Strait integrated development. Relying on Shanghai's high-level opening up and scientific and technological innovation advantages, it will build a new platform for cross-Strait economic exchanges and cooperation, and explore new paths for cross-Strait industrial innovation and integration.

Peng Qing'en, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, delivered a speech at the opening and launching ceremony of the main seminar. He said that the "15th Five-Year Plan" has drawn up a grand blueprint for economic and social development in the next five years. The mainland's vast market space, complete industrial system, active innovation ecology, and sufficient talent supply will surely inject abundant new momentum into cross-strait economic cooperation and integrated development. Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises must recognize the general trend, seize opportunities, firmly take root in the development confidence of the mainland, and contribute to the innovation and creation of the Chinese nation.

He also emphasized that protecting the common home, strengthening the common cause, and enhancing common welfare are the sincere expectations of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. It is hoped that the majority of Taiwan compatriots will adhere to the one-China principle and the "1992 Consensus", resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and interference from external forces, and jointly create a bright future for the reunification of the motherland and national rejuvenation.

Lu Shan, deputy mayor of Shanghai, said in his speech that Shanghai will, as always, uphold the concept of "one family across the Taiwan Straits", respect, care for, and benefit Taiwan compatriots, so that Taiwan compatriots will work more smoothly, live more comfortably, and develop with more confidence here.

More than a thousand guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait attended the event, including heads of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and relevant departments in Shanghai, heads of Taiwan's major industrial and commercial groups, people from industry, academia and research, and representatives of important Taiwanese businessmen.
