Barcelona negotiates the immediate incorporation of Gabriel Jesus

Barcelona has activated the Gabriel Jesus route. The Barça club is negotiating with Arsenal the immediate incorporation of the 29-year-old Brazilian striker, in an operation that would be around 10 million euros in addition to variables depending on games played and titles. The proposed agreement will be for two seasons plus an optional one, as Mundo Deportivo advanced and La Vanguardia has confirmed.

Talks with Arsenal are advanced and Barça is seeking to close a low-cost operation in the next few hours to reinforce a position that had been left up in the air throughout the summer. Gabriel Jesus will arrive tomorrow to undergo the medical examination.

The Brazilian attacker, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, ends his contract in June 2027. It is the last minute solution for Hansi Flick's forward line, a market opportunity. Sources from the sports city explain that he is a piece that fits the coach: a pure nine, a finisher to complete the squad as proven by his scoring records: he scored 95 goals in 236 games for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, where he played from 2016 to 2022, and 33 goals in 123 games played for Arsenal.

The Brazilian brings experience, mobility and the ability to play as a center forward, but also to move to the sides. The operation is understood, internally, as a way to contribute goals after the departure of Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Club sources explain that in no case does this signing come to replace Julián Álvarez. It is a movement independent of that of the Argentine, whom they follow and will continue to wait for in future transfer market windows.
