A shot at a car in southern Stockholm

There is a large police operation in Bagarmossen in southern Stockholm after a person was shot in connection with a car on Friday afternoon. The police received the alarm at 4:47 p.m., and by 6 p.m. around ten police cars were on the scene.

The shooting is said to have occurred in a residential area, and several residential buildings are cordoned off.

- It feels terrible. My neighbor said she was out throwing garbage when it happened and my son usually rides his bike around here in the area, says a woman who lives within the cordons.

According to SOS Alarm, two people have been taken to hospital. Police say one person has been shot.

- We actually don't know how it is with the injury situation. The care must make an assessment, says Nadya Norton, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.

At 6:15 p.m., the police state that they cannot comment on either the gender or the age of the person who has been shot.

A woman who lives nearby says her teenage son heard banging through the window and screaming. She ran outside to see if she could help, then saw the person who had been shot.

- The person was in the car and was then picked up by ambulance. There was a hole in the car window.

The woman says that it is usually a quiet area, but that her son now thinks it feels uncomfortable to move outside during the autumn holidays next week.

- This is still the quieter side of Bagarmossen. It will really be in a different way. It makes a difference when you get it out of the gate.

A man who lives nearby was sitting at the computer when he heard the sound.

- I didn't know what it was, then a few seconds later a scream. I was sitting at the computer with the curtains drawn so I couldn't see what was happening. My girlfriend was out with our child to go to the store. It must have happened just as she went out.

When he looked out, he saw a car with a broken window.

- It looked like the person had been shot through the window. I could see a number of people around trying to help.

The police have not yet arrested any suspects.

According to SL, subway traffic on the green line is affected after the shooting. This concerns both canceled departures and delays.
