Erdoğan spoke on Palestine, Syria and TRNC issues at the 81st UN General Assembly

Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements:

"May the 81st General Assembly of the UN be beneficial for all humanity.

First of all, I would like to express my sadness. Mr. Mahmud Abbas has not been in this hall for 2 years. This injustice towards our Palestinian brothers hurts the conscience. Even though Abbas cannot be here, we will be the voice of free and sovereign Palestine, and we will continue to announce the struggle of the Palestinian people to the world from this podium. On this occasion, I invite all countries that have not recognized Palestine to reconsider their decisions.

The last 12 months were recorded as the bloodiest period of the last 10 years, with more than 60 conflicts. Hundreds of thousands of them had to leave the lands where they were born and raised. In Gaza alone, 74 thousand of our brothers became victims of Israeli state terrorism.

More than 70 percent of the generators in hospitals in Gaza are out of service due to fuel shortage. Gaza is not only the world's largest children's cemetery, it also has the highest amputation rate in the world.

After the ceasefire, the number of people killed exceeded 1,500. The worst settler terrorism is experienced in Bari Bank. Muslims are prohibited from entering holy places.

"UNSC MUST BE REFORMED"

We are faced with a genocidal mentality that cannot get enough of killing. The UN organization has been rendered unable to perform its duty, and the organization continues to lose blood. His hope is the United Nations, but he is disappointed. I find the General Assembly theme, which focuses on restoring trust in the international system, to be accurate. If trust in the UN is truly to be increased, what needs to be done is clear. If trust in the UN is to increase, children in Gaza must be safe.

The structure in which the will of more than 190 countries depends on the whims of 5 countries is neither fair nor can fully establish trust. The Security Council must be reformed according to the 'World is bigger than 5 principle'. A structure based on 5 countries does not provide trust. History has painfully shown that there are no winners in a political approach based on distrust. We must build a new paradigm together against the deepening income inequality in the world.

Our negotiations with actors regarding ending the conflict and war environment continue. I invite everyone to put more pressure on Israel. We will see those good days in 1967 when there will be an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

After 14 years of oppression, Syria has entered a new path. Syria continues to be a safe country despite all kinds of provocations.

The latest attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea are unacceptable, no matter who carries them out.

The sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people must be registered, and the inhumane isolation they are subjected to must end. I invite the world to know TRNC.

Türkiye continues to be an island of stability in the midst of conflicts, with its developing defense industry and shock-resistant economy. As an integral part of Europe, our country undertakes an important role in ensuring the welfare and security of the continent. Frankly, it is not possible for a Europe in which Türkiye is excluded from the security architecture to become stronger and more secure.

We are the host of COP31 in Antalya. There are many different ways to combat the climate crisis. Words must turn into concrete steps, we invite all leaders. Another danger as much as the climate crisis is the increase in waste. "Over 2 billion tons of food is wasted."
