Jamal Musiala collapses again in a friendly

Another shocking moment for national player Jamal Musiala: Just three days after a collapse, the 23-year-old returned to the pitch in FC Bayern's friendly against second division team 1. FC Heidenheim on Tuesday. But just a few minutes after being substituted in the 61st minute, Musiala suddenly collapsed and fell to the ground.

Teammates and opponents quickly formed a circle around Musiala to protect themselves from view. Shortly later he was able to leave the pitch on his own, but did not continue the game. The doctors rushed onto the pitch, Musiala was treated and left the pitch towards the dressing room.

Late in the evening he spoke up and tried to allay concerns. “First things first – I’m fine!” he shared on social media. "I understand that many of you are worried. I would like to take this worry away from you today and explain something to you," wrote Musiala to the fans. "I was diagnosed with temporary, short-term, but easily treatable absences, which can be traced back to a neurological dysfunction. These can lead to the moments that have recently occurred, such as against Leipzig or now in Heidenheim."

Musiala, like several other Bayern stars - including Harry Kane and Michael Olise - was only substituted on after just over an hour on Tuesday. Bayern won the game 4-2.

There had already been great concerns about Musiala in the test against RB Leipzig (3-1) last Saturday: in the final phase he initially lay motionless on the pitch and then left the pitch in a daze. It was later said that the player had suffered heat stroke. Musiala complained of dizziness and circulatory problems.
