Britain's Esther Adeshina said it was a "dream" to be playing in Wimbledon qualifying after achieving the biggest win of her career to move within two victories of a place in the main draw.

The 24-year-old beat Japan's former top-50 player Moyuka Uchijima 6-1 3-6 7-5 in after almost two hours in stifling heat in Roehampton.

World number 514 Adeshina, will next face France's Harmony Tan, who famously beat Serena Williams on her way to the Wimbledon fourth round in 2022.

"That was unbelievable," Adeshina said.

"I was just thinking one point at a time. I was looking over to my team a lot, just trying to breathe and enjoy the moment.

"It means a lot to me, being British and playing at home. I have been coming to watch Wimbledon since I was young - it's a dream."

Also in Wimbledon qualifying, 15-year-old Daniella Britton - given a qualifying wildcard after winning the under-16s and under-18s national championships - was edged out 2-6 6-2 6-4 by Argentine Julia Riera.

Heather Watson also advanced with a 6-2 6-2 win over Egyptian 21st seed Mayar Sherif.
