Collective rape: victim does not eat and only cries after group lines up to commit abuse, says delegate

The 21-year-old woman who reported a gang rape in Bela Vista de Goiás, in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia, is shaken by the situation, unable to sleep and without appetite, according to delegate Magda D'Ávila. According to the Civil Police, three men and a 14-year-old teenager lined up to commit the abuse.

"She's finished. She doesn't eat, she doesn't sleep, she just cries," said the delegate about the young woman's emotional state.

According to the delegate, the victim is being assisted by the Municipal Women's Secretariat, as she is "very humble". Due to a lapse in memory, the young woman does not remember how she left the place where the abuse took place. "When she began to regain consciousness, she was in the city center", explained the delegate.

Three men aged 21, 25 and 30 were arrested red handed. The teenager involved was apprehended this Thursday (29). According to the delegate, the adults will be charged with rape of a vulnerable person and corruption of a minor, while the teenager will be charged with an infraction similar to the crime of rape of a vulnerable person.

The names of those involved were not disclosed, so g1 was unable to get in touch to ask for a position.

During the investigation, the police discovered that the suspects, who work at the same construction site where her father works, spoke to the victim via message. According to the delegate, the woman contacted the men, as one of the witnesses had told her what happened, but she was "in disbelief".

"Some said there was a relationship and then deleted the message, others lied. 'No, nothing happened. We just gave you a bath'", said the investigator.

According to the delegate, one of the witnesses tried to intervene, but said that the victim was “out of his mind”.

The victim reported the crime last Tuesday (27), around 8am. According to the police, the woman went to the kitnet where the abuse took place at the invitation of the suspects and, after drinking alcohol, she does not remember what happened.

"After drinking what they offered, she said she doesn't remember anything else. They lined up to rape her. We identified one who stood at the door watching who came in and out: 'Now it's you, now it's you'", said the investigator.

Delegate Magda D'Ávila was investigating whether the victim had been drugged. According to her, the suspects claim that she arrived at the property "in bad condition", without being able to walk properly, and claim that the sexual relations were consensual. However, the researcher rules out this possibility.

"The fact that she is unable to express herself and consent to the act is rape of a vulnerable person," said the delegate.

Embarrassed, the victim had difficulty going to the police station. In an interview, Magda D'Ávila said that she had to convince the young woman to record the crime.

"She sent a message on WhatsApp, saying that she was very ashamed. I had to talk to her and convince her to come. [...] She was constantly saying that she was disgusted with herself, with what people were going to say," said the investigator.
