Eti Bakır Siirt Plant Manager Olcay Kotiloğlu explained the activities at the press conference

Eti Bakır Siirt Enterprise Business Manager Olcay Kotiloğlu gave information about the activities carried out in the enterprise at the press conference he held at the institution.

Kotiloğlu told journalists that the enterprise located in Maden village of the district is an important center with both its production capacity and the economic contribution it provides to the region.

Noting that there are 848 employees in the enterprise, Kotiloğlu said, "We provide 1 million tons of run-of-mine ore annually to our economy, in return around 80 thousand tons of concentrated ore and approximately 14 thousand tons of cathode copper benefit. We send the concentrate we produce here completely to our Eti Bakak Samsun Smelting and Electrolysis Facility and transform it into a benefit value coefficient for our country and within the domestic capital." he said.

Stating that they are trying to both create a mining culture and contribute to the future of mining in Turkey with their work, Kotiloğlu explained that they act closely with citizens and institutions as a stakeholder of regional activities in this direction.

"While producing underground mines, we are producing with the first vertical shaft tower system in Türkiye, which is one of the few in mining in Türkiye and the world. We have a facility built on a structure that works with an automation system, with a bottom depth of 669 meters underground and a tower system of approximately 74.5 meters above ground, which creates both ore and human transportation system. This is the only example of metal mining in Türkiye and it is a mine with a very high safety coefficient." Kotiloğlu stated that they aim to bring young engineers they care about to the country's mining sector.

Pointing out that they also attach importance to regional employment in the business, Kotiloğlu said:

"Especially in terms of increasing regional employment, 96 percent of our blue-collar employees are our colleagues in our region, and in order to increase the rate of white-collar employment day by day, we ensure that they gradually take our place by adding and training local technical personnel to our staff. This is the foremost of our visions, to move forward with domestic and local equity resources. Our greatest value here is not our underground mine, but our colleagues who work with us. We thank all of them. All actions that can be taken at the highest level regarding security measures and raised to the highest level with R&D technologies "We are constantly monitoring the plans. We are not moving forward by saying 'Yes, we have a very solid security infrastructure. We are trying to keep our security level at the highest level by focusing on the technology that develops day by day and in our research.'

Stating that they continue their studies on nature in the region, Kotiloğlu added that they planted approximately 960 thousand saplings in this context and that efforts are continuing to reach the target of 1 million saplings.
