Former Ilva, Aigi suspends collective dismissals pending the Court of Milan

"In there (at Palazzo Chigi ed.) there was a climate of responsibility on the part of all the institutions, so we could not escape this call for a sense of responsibility. Also faced with the guarantees of production continuity in a new type of steel, green steel with ovens and DRI, we responded positively by temporarily suspending collective dismissals, at least until the hearing of the sentence of the Court of Milan". This was stated by the president of Aigi (AdI and General Industries Association) Nicola Convertino, speaking to journalists at the end of the meeting between the government and the employers' associations regarding the former Ilva.

"We are the last ones we want to fire - he said -, ours are service companies and our wealth lies right there, in the staff".
