Explosive fire in Arboga – several animals dead and around 40 homeless

No people were injured in the explosive fire in two townhouses in Arboga on Friday, but several animals are said to have burned inside.

- It looks like a war zone. The apartment next to mine has no roof, but in my apartment it's only burned in the bedroom, says Magnus Kjellstedt, chairman of the community.

About 40 people affected

Between 40 and 50 people have lost their homes in the fire, according to him. Among them is almost the entire board of the community.

Despite the difficult situation, many are grateful - including Magnus Kjellstedt.

- The whole of Arboga is world class. You can't complain about a single Arbogabo, the Rescue Service, the ambulance, the rub. It just worked, he says.

The police investigation is delayed

Due to the heat at the heart of the fire, it may take up to a week before the police can begin their technical investigation. There are still no answers as to how the fire started.
