17 suspects were referred with a request for arrest in the corruption investigation against Eyüpsultan Municipality

Prosecutor's statements of 28 suspects in the corruption investigation against Eyüpsultan Municipality have been completed. While 17 suspects, including Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, 11 suspects were released by the prosecutor's office on the condition of judicial control.

Prosecutor's office procedures for 28 suspects detained in the corruption investigation against Eyüpsultan Municipality have been completed. While 17 suspects, including Eyüpsultan Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, 11 suspects were released by the prosecutor's office on the condition of judicial control.

28 SUSPECTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Fighting Branch Directorate under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention orders were issued for 28 suspects, including Eyüpsultan Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen, on charges of "being a member of a criminal organization", "taking bribes", "giving bribes" and "tender rigging".

While search and seizure operations were carried out at the suspects' addresses, all 28 suspects were detained. The suspects detained in Istanbul were taken to Ankara after a health check.

ARREST REQUEST FOR 17 SUSPECTS

The prosecutor's statements of the 28 suspects, who were referred to the Ankara Courthouse after their procedures at the police station, were completed. 17 suspects, including Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with the request for their arrest.

The prosecutor's office released the other 11 suspects on condition of judicial control. Proceedings against 17 suspects who were referred to the court are continuing.
