The American fifth-generation fighter F-22 Raptor flew with a new target detection system. This equipment will allow you to hit stealth aircraft, writes Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

Eyewitnesses spotted an F-22 with an Infrared Search And Track System (IRST) container under the wing. Judging by the technical markings on the body, the aircraft is being tested. It is noted that IRST will turn the F-22 into an effective hunter of stealth aircraft.

The passive system allows you to detect and track targets using their infrared radiation. At the same time, the attacking aircraft remains invisible. “This could be especially valuable for stealth aircraft, since the passive sensor cannot determine the location of the fighter from radar emissions,” the publication says.
