DPP New Taipei Mayoral candidate Su Chiao-hui held standard campaign headquarters establishment rally today (5th) in Banqiao, which also marks the Green Camp's first large-scale mobilization for 2026. Attendees including President Lai Ching-te, who serves concurrently as Party Chairman, former President Tsai Ing-wen, and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai all showed up in support, with a turnout exceeding 20,000 people. Delivering her speech, Su Chiao-hui stated that having walked for over 800 days since announcing her candidacy, her poll numbers have moved from trailing behind to tying and now leading; she emphasized that in the future, she will polish the city's brand with a human-centric approach and establish an Urban Renewal Bureau to accelerate old building renovations, transforming New Taipei from a satellite city of Taipei into a constellation of stars.

Su pointed out that 800 days ago, she reported to everyone her hope to take over this city-county of New Taipei. Starting from Shulin, Yingge, and Xinzhuang, her team walked through every single one of New Taipei's 29 districts, shaking hands one by one. She emotionally expressed that 800 days ago, no one favored her and she was far behind her opponents, but because she refused to give up and fought with all her might, she caught up in the polls at the 600-day mark, and now, over 80 days later, she has begun to take the lead. She thanked more and more people for recognizing her earnestness, hard work, perseverance, and attitude, noting that everyone present today is not just supporting her policy platform, but wanting to guide New Taipei into a new era.
Su Chiao-hui stated that she grew up in this city and experienced both its complete transformation 30 years ago and the rapid progress in infrastructure over the past decade. The question a mayoral candidate should answer most is, "Where should New Taipei go in the next 20 years?" She believes New Taipei deserves a better future; beyond completing existing infrastructure—such as rail transit, bridge building, road paving, and flood prevention—on schedule and with quality, it is even more vital to build a city brand that puts people first and leverages new technologies to solve old problems, polishing New Taipei City's signature brand.
On specific policy promises, Su Chiao-hui advocated for helping different generations and ethnic groups settle and thrive. She mentioned providing free vaccines and reducing medical burdens for children, giving resources and additional mental health counseling for youth entrepreneurship, offering late-night temporary childcare, subsidizing dentures and upgrading senior cards for the elderly, while acting as a backing for "caregivers of caregivers" such as teachers, police, firefighters, and long-term care workers. Furthermore, she pledged to double budget support for Indigenous peoples, increase subsidies and integrate AI for Hakka groups, and go all out to support new immigrants.
On the industrial front, the municipal government will take the lead in using AI to streamline processes and reduce pressure on civil servants, subsidizing traditional industries to lower the barrier to AI adoption. It will also plan industrial parks such as Daganyuan, Xintai Wenzaizhun, and Bali Taipei Port, as well as establish an Urban Renewal Bureau to accelerate urban renewal. In addition, she proposed the "Crown Coast" and the "Diamond Mountain City" combining trails and railways, alongside smart medical care, long-term care, and the ACG industry, allowing New Taipei's 29 districts to be "not a satellite of Taipei City, but a constellation of stars."
Chen Chi-mai: Su Chiao-hui Is "Su Tseng-chang 3.0," Prepared to Transform New Taipei
Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai, who made a special trip north to endorse her, stated in his speech that he had learned team execution from former Premier Su Tseng-chang, transforming Kaohsiung into a city with a 2-nanometer chip plant and a 10-billion concert economy. He voiced strong support for Su Chiao-hui as "Su Tseng-chang 3.0," praising her for reaching out to the grassroots and proposing the "One Axis, Four Hubs" and "Golden Plan." He noted that she not only possesses a comprehensive vision for municipal governance, but can also use new methods and technologies to resolve long-standing issues, making her fully capable of leading New Taipei City to stride forward and turn a new page.
