EU diplomacy chief Kaya Kallas said she discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi the latest escalation of the situation in the Persian Gulf and the progress of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

She noted that the renewed attacks on Gulf countries and critical infrastructure are unacceptable, and stressed that diplomacy remains the best way out of this conflict.
