BELGOROD, October 6 - RIA Novosti. Quotas of jobs for SVO participants are legally enshrined in the Belgorod region; this obligation must be assumed by enterprises with over a hundred employees, said the governor of the region, Alexander Shuvaev.
The governor took part in the tenth meeting of the Belgorod Regional Duma of the eighth convocation, at which a number of important decisions for the region were adopted.
“On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, we continue to expand measures of social support for participants in a special military operation. One of our main tasks is to ensure employment for those who returned from the front line. Therefore, we have legislated quotas for jobs for air defense soldiers,” Shuvaev said in a channel on the Max platform.
The head of the region explained that employers with more than 100 employees will be required to hire a returning fighter and conclude an employment contract with him. Currently, there are about 650 such enterprises in the region.
“The quota will be 1% of the average number of employees. If the employer accepted a SVO participant before the law came into force, this will also be counted towards the quota,” explained the head of the region.
A separate situation is provided for when the defender has a disability: in this case, employment will close two quotas at once - both for the SVO participant and for the person with a disability. The quota will be considered fulfilled even if the veteran undergoes training for further work with this employer. The law will come into force on March 1, 2027.
In addition, the purposes of using the payment established by the law of the Belgorod region “On cash payments to certain categories of citizens in the territory of the Belgorod region” have been expanded. Now it can be used for medical rehabilitation of children injured as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and terrorist attacks. Since the beginning of the Northern Military District, more than 300 children have suffered from attacks by Ukrainian armed forces, over 200 of them are in need of rehabilitation. A Fund for Assistance to Wounded Children already operates in the region, and changes to the regional law will make it possible to strengthen efforts in their treatment and recovery, Shuvaev explained.
