The water storage rate of the Zengwen Reservoir, the largest in the country, is already less than 89%. As Qiangpi approaches, if the latest rainfall information in the catchment area of ​​the Southern Water Resources Administration's meteorological team is as expected, it is estimated that it is expected to bring an inflow of about 35 million cubic meters to replenish the water situation.

The Nanfang Water Management Bureau mentioned that the current flood detention space in Zengwen is about 55 million cubic meters. During the period of Qiangpi's impact, the operating principle will be to maintain water resources, but relevant typhoon prevention and preparation work will still be done to ensure the safety of the reservoir and downstream rivers.

As for the current water regulation strategy, the South Water Management Bureau pointed out that it will still maintain priority in utilizing river water to reduce water outflow from the reservoir and extend the overall reservoir water supply schedule.

The Southern Water Resources Department stated that if Typhoon Qiangpit brings significant moisture, it will closely contact the southern management offices of the Farmland and Water Conservancy Department to save water supply based on the actual rainfall conditions in the fields to successfully complete the second phase of irrigation tasks.

According to the Southern Water Management Bureau, as of 9 o'clock tonight, the water level of the Zengwen Reservoir is 226.96 meters, and the water storage rate is 88.71%. Together with the Wushantou Reservoir, the total effective water storage capacity is about 503 million cubic meters; the public is still urged to continue to develop the habit of saving water and cherish precious water resources.
