The Democratic Party of Korea demands an apology from Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon for the 'Myung Tae-gyun opinion poll' suspicions.

On the 22nd, the Democratic Party of Korea demanded Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who was sentenced to loss of office in the first trial on charges of paying a sponsor for the Myung Tae-gyun opinion poll, to "stop hiding behind excuses and apologize to the citizens of Seoul."

Lee Joo-hee, the floor spokesperson, said in a written briefing, “Mayor Oh again pleaded not guilty yesterday in the appeal trial on charges of violating the Political Fund Act.”

Representative Lee criticized, "Mayor Oh's side disparaged the court's judgment by calling it 'vague speculation' regarding the first trial in which he pleaded guilty," and added, "It appears that they are making every effort to avoid being found guilty by increasing the number of defense lawyers to 16."

He continued, "The problem is that Seoul city government is at a standstill at that time," and pointed out, "There are a lot of public livelihood issues, including housing instability, but the mayor is preoccupied with framing the case as innocent in court."

He said, “What 9.3 million Seoul citizens entrust to the mayor is not individual legal defense, but taking care of the lives of citizens.”

Spokesperson Lee said, “Before Mayor Oh insists on his innocence, he must first bow his head and apologize sincerely for the suspicions of illegal political funds he himself brought up,” and added, “He should not deny even the facts confirmed by evidence and repeat baseless claims.”
