Family tragedy in Fatih: 3 dead

Mehmet Ali Yıldırım (72), who took out his gun after an argument between the family escalated in Fatih, killed his wife Söhöyla Yıldırım (61) and daughter Elif Gülşah Yıldırım (27) and then committed suicide. After the investigation at the scene, the bodies of the 3 people were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute.

The incident took place around 15.30 in Gül Dede Street, Hırka-i Şerif District. Allegedly, an argument broke out between Mehmet Ali Yıldırım and his wife and daughter for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated in a short time, Yıldırım took out his gun and shot his wife Söhöyla Yıldırım and daughter Elif Gülşah Yıldırım. Yıldırım later committed suicide with the same gun. Upon the notice of the surrounding people, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon check by medical teams, it was determined that 3 people had died. Following the work of the crime scene investigation teams, the bodies were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute.

On the other hand, it was learned that there had been severe disagreements between Mehmet Ali Yıldırım and his wife for about 3 months, so Söhöyla Yıldırım went to Kahramanmaraş a while ago and returned to Istanbul on Friday, August 28. It was claimed that Mehmet Ali Yıldırım had been receiving psychological treatment for a while due to sleep and nervous complaints.
