Lai Ruilong said that he will use his 10 years of experience in municipal administration and 10 years in Congress to continue his creativity and execution, and more importantly, he will use Lai Ruilong's "hard work" style. Urban development is a long-term event. Facing challenges such as global industrial transformation and demographic changes, familiarity with the city and long-term participation in Kaohsiung's development are the most basic and necessary thresholds for the next mayor.
He pointed out that in the future, we must continue to make progress and promote the "Great Southern Plan". We will continue to improve the transportation network, and jointly establish an "Industrial Upgrading Fund" with the private sector to assist in the upgrading of industry, and then drive the balanced development of all industries through the "Six Arrows of Industry". At the same time, we will lay out the long-term layout with "one airport and three centers", including a semiconductor center, an AI computing power application center, an inter-school talent center, and strive for a 24-hour sea airport to enhance international competitiveness.
In addition, Lai Ruilong will also promote the maternity subsidy of 50,000 yuan, cooperate with the central government to increase the monthly growth allowance of 1,000 yuan, strengthen the power of public trusts, increase the elderly card to 15,000 points, double the bilingual education budget, and create a more complete youth and labor support system to usher in Kaohsiung's next golden decade.
Ke Zhien believes that "Municipal construction is one step after another, and Kaohsiung's current development is based on the foundation laid by previous mayors." Former mayor Han Guoyu introduced YouBike2.0, which was recognized by the public; after the Han government established the Youth Bureau, Chen Qimai continued to use it; "Bus Xiaohuang" was launched by Chen Jushi, and Han Guoyu added 25 more routes. After Chen Qimai took office, he also vigorously promoted it and upgraded the Senior Citizen Card to allow direct free rides. These are all cases where municipal construction has gone through different political parties but has the same goal.
Ke Zhien pointed out that "Chen Qimai has a high degree of satisfaction with her administration. If she does a good job, we will give her recognition." She will also continue the current important construction of the city government, such as the concert economy, industrial upgrading direction, and rail construction. However, there are also some municipal performance issues that citizens hope to improve, and deficiencies must be faced squarely. For example, although the concert economy is glorious, the problems behind ticket scalping and skyrocketing housing prices also need to be addressed. In addition, Kaohsiung also faces problems such as continued population loss and bullying in schools and workplaces.
Ke Zhien emphasized that "affirming the status quo does not mean ignoring the problem." She has prepared specific solutions covering "labor rights protection" and "social protection net" to make Kaohsiung's future urban governance more complete.
