FC Bayern Munich: Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari are out for the time being

FC Bayern Munich must initially plan without the injured offensive stars Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari. As the Munich team announced after the 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga summit against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening, national player Gnabry suffered a muscle injury in the back of his left thigh. This is the next health setback for the 31-year-old after missing the World Cup due to an adductor injury.

Saibari tore the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle during a duel with Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. The 25-year-old Moroccan international has already undergone surgery, the Munich-based company announced. Both will be missing for the time being.

Gnabry, Saibari and Michael Olise had to leave the field early in the game. Olise, who was substituted shortly before the end of the game, initially had no diagnosis.

“To be honest, it feels a bit intense what is happening around us,” said sports director Max Eberl after the missed success, which was prevented by a late Dortmund equalizer by Fabio Silva.

In addition to coach Vincent Kompany, who continues to recover at home with his family after his meningitis, FC Bayern are also missing Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz and Manuel Neuer due to injuries. If Olise were also out, the Munich team would only have two regular offensive forces at their disposal: Harry Kane and Lennart Karl.
