Candidate Fernando Haddad voted at a school in the south of São Paulo during the 2022 election.
The PT candidate for governor of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad, said he had a clear conscience and that the "campaign was good".
"First of all, I would like to thank the voters of São Paulo who received us in an atmosphere of dialogue. The atmosphere in the state of São Paulo was much better than in the last election", said the candidate, at a school in the south of the capital, this Sunday morning (4).
Haddad was accompanied by his wife, Ana Estela Haddad, Senate candidates Marina Silva (Rde) and Simone Tebet (PSB), both on Lula's ticket (PT), as well as vice-presidential candidate Geraldo Alckmin and vice-candidate for governor Márcio França (PSB). There were also Lúcia França, França's wife, Lu Alckmin and the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha.
Haddad considers that there were no incidents in this election.
"We ran a great campaign. I did it in '22 too, I left very satisfied, and I'm leaving with the same light spirit. I fulfilled my role, together with Márcio França, Simone and Marina, enhancing this ticket and with this extraordinary support from two democrats who built modern Brazil, Lula and Alckmin, two great Brazilians."
Asked whether the recent actions of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) had an impact on the campaign, especially the decisions that led to the cancellation of the debate last week, the former minister put the effects into perspective.
"Every relevant topic has an impact. It's talking about a power of the Republic, it's not just anything. But this most recent discussion about a reform of the Judiciary, we had a recent reform that Lula carried out, and now he himself is convinced in light of events that it is necessary to do (a new one). Eight years ago, he was proposing exactly that", stated the candidate.
Regarding female participation in these elections, Haddad said that the ticket was composed the way the candidates wanted. This is the first election of this century in which there is no woman running for vice or president among the presidential candidates with a chance.
"I would like there to be more [female participation], but we compose it the way they want. We don't impose [female] candidacy, I'm sure that Marina [Silva] and Simone [Tebet] chose to run for the Senate, and it was a harmonious decision. We have a parity ticket, four important positions, two occupied by women."
He also stated that during his work at the Ministry of Finance, he was the minister who opened the most secretariat positions (senior government) with female appointments.
"I'm not talking about positions, I'm talking about national secretariats, top-ranking positions in the Ministry occupied by women. I've had several female running mates throughout my public life, so I'm in good company."
