Sultans of the Net in the semi-finals: We beat Germany 3-1

Our National Women's Volleyball Team wrote another epic by beating Germany 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the CEV Trendyol 2026 Women's European Championship and made it to the semi-finals. In the huge match played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, the sets ended 18-25, 25-22, 18-25 and 22-25. Türkiye succeeded in advancing to the semi-finals for the 6th time in a row. The top scorers in the Crescent-Star team were Melissa Vargas with 14 points, followed by captain Eda Erdem with 12 points. Sultans, the last Nations League and European champions, will fight to reach the final against Serbia in the semi-finals to be played tomorrow at 16.00.

'WE CAN DEFEAT ANYONE'

The head coach of the National Team, Daniele Santarelli, said in his post-match statement that they were strong enough to beat anyone. The Italian coach said: "I am very happy that we won. We have great respect for Serbia. If we play our best volleyball, have the right attitude and our fans support us throughout the match, I think we have a chance against everyone. I am confident that we can give our best and beat anyone.”

EDA ERDEM: ONE MORE TARGET COMPLETED

Captain of the National Team, Eda Erdem, made statements after the match. The 39-year-old volleyball player said: "There was good volleyball on the field today. We played a complete team game today. We are happy, another goal has been achieved. Now it's Serbia's turn. It will be a tough match because Serbia is a team that always plays here. Turkey is the same now. We are sure that it will be a high-quality volleyball that is enjoyable to watch. I hope we can play good volleyball on the field and we will be the side that leaves the match with a victory."
