Flexible night stops are introduced for increased security in the county

Flexible night stops mean that a traveler can ask the bus driver to stop between two stops during the night, if the driver judges that it is safe for traffic.

- We know that the bus journey itself usually feels safe, but that the last bit home can feel unsafe, especially for young women. Now we are shortening that distance. No one should have to choose between a night out and a safe journey home, says Jakop Dalunde (MP), traffic regional councilor, in a press release.

An evaluation from Södertälje shows that both drivers and passengers experienced increased security, and that the opportunity was used on average once per departure.

It is mainly lines south from Stockholm C where the possibility will now exist, but in December a bus line will also be added between Danderyd and Österskär.
