A Florida man was arrested Friday after police say he promoted a house party on Snapchat where multiple teenagers were found drinking alcohol and using drugs.

Homeowner Samir Mukovic, 25, of Cape Coral, who allegedly hosted the party with the help of a promoter, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by allegedly allowing underage alcohol and drug use at an open house party, according to online records.

Cape Coral police initially responded to his home Friday after receiving reports of a fight that may have involved weapons, police said in a news release. Callers also reported that several females were allegedly locked in a bedroom and that cocaine could be present.

Due to the serious nature of the allegations, officers entered the home through an open front door to check on the safety of those inside, despite a resident denying any knowledge of a disturbance.

While police found no evidence of a fight or weapons, they instead uncovered what they described as a large house party with about 30 attendees, many of whom appeared to be underage. Officers reported seeing alcohol and marijuana in plain view throughout the home, with some partygoers actively consuming both.

Several minors reportedly told officers they learned about the party through social media posts, while others were encouraged to bring additional guests.

Mukovic allegedly told officers he did not know the ages of the attendees, Gulf Coast News reports. However, police determined that he maintained control of the property, permitted the gathering to take place and failed to take reasonable steps to prevent minors from drinking alcohol or using drugs, resulting in his arrest.

The teens in attendance were released to their parents without further incident, police said.

He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in county court on June 30, according to records.

The Independent has contacted the Cape Coral Police Department for comment.
