Painting Theft at the Renoir Museum in France

A new one has been added to the recent thefts targeting museums in France. This time, the target of the thieves was the Renoir Museum in the southern city of Cagnes-sur-Mer. Thieves entered the museum dedicated to the French impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and escaped by stealing two paintings.

SUSPECTS ARE WANTED

In his statement about the incident, Cagnes-sur-Mer Mayor Bryan Masson stated that the two people were noticed thanks to the municipality's security cameras and said, "The museum's alarm went off at 05.48. Just 5 minutes later, at 05.53, our municipal police were at the scene. The suspects are actively sought and the investigation continues."

'THEY LEFT IT IN THE GARDEN'

The mayor confirmed that two paintings were stolen from the museum and said that two paintings were left in the garden of the museum. Authorities estimated the value of the stolen works at 9 million euros. The Municipality announced that the two missing paintings were Madame Colonna Romano and Jeune femme au puits (The young woman in the well).
