[Sports Center/Comprehensive Report] In Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, the Guardians faced the Rays at home today at Progressive Field. Due to heavy rain, the game was postponed and Game 4 of the series was rescheduled to tomorrow. Bob Nightengale, a well-known reporter from the American media "USA Today" pointed out that this also means that there will be no bye day between Game 5 and Game 6 of the American League Championship Series.

Major League Baseball officially announced that due to poor weather, the American League Championship Series G4 will be rescheduled to start at 8 pm local time tomorrow. The "Associated Press" pointed out that this is the first time that the American League Championship Series has been postponed for any reason since 2019. The Guardians were originally going to take a bullpen battle today, with Shawn Armstrong as the starting pitcher. Now that the game has been postponed due to rain, the Guardians may adjust their plan and let left-hander Foster Griffin start Game 4. Griffin started in G1 of the American League Championship Series and allowed 2 runs in 5 innings; the Rays were originally scheduled to start right-hander Nick Martinez today.

If the series needs to be played in games 6 and 7, the two games will still be held as originally planned at 8 pm on Monday and Tuesday at Tropicana Field, the home of the Rays, without any rest days in between.

The Guardians currently have a 2-1 advantage in the American League Championship Series and are competing for the first World Series since 2016; while the Rays are competing for the first World Series since 2020.

In the National League, the Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. This was the first time in the Brewers' history since 1982 that they advanced to the World Series.
