General manager was detained in the fund investigation: Atila Türeli was appointed as the head of Borsa Istanbul 'by proxy'

Borsa İstanbul A.Ş. held on November 1, 2026. In line with the decision taken at the Board of Directors Meeting, Borsa İstanbul A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Atila Türeli, Borsa İstanbul A.Ş., by proxy. He was appointed as General Manager.

Borsa Istanbul General Manager Korkmaz Enes Ergun was detained yesterday.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Ergun was detained on charges of "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes" and "bribery" within the scope of the fund investigation.

Korkmaz Enes Ergun has been serving as general manager at Borsa Istanbul since March 26, 2021.

WHO IS ATİLLA TÜRELİ?

Atilla Türeli was born in 1970 in Konya Ereğli.

He completed primary school at Ereğli Cumhuriyet Primary School and secondary and high school at Konya Anatolian High School. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1993.

In 2008, he completed his master's program on European Union Public Law and Integration Program at Bahçeşehir University Institute of Social Sciences. He received his law license in 1994.

He served as a judge in the judicial judiciary until 2000. In 2000, he passed the exam held by the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) and started working as a lawyer at the Legal Consultancy Office.

He served as Member Affairs Department Manager between 2012-2014, Compliance Department Manager between 2014-2016, and General Legal Counsel between 2016-2023. Türeli is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of TÜRİB and a Member of the General Assembly of the Istanbul Arbitration Center. Türeli has expert mediation certificates in various branches of law.
