Parents ask for their three children to return home after ten months of separation

A decision that breaks our hearts. Thus Catherine and Nathan, parents of the three children of the family in the woods, comment in a video, provided by the lawyer Simone Pillon, on the provision that keeps their children away from the house and the family, announcing their intention to appeal against the decision of the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila.

Last Monday the provision was filed which gave the green light to the process of reuniting the family, but according to a staged process monitored by the social services which will have to certify the reintegration of the minors.

"Our three children have been separated from home and their parents for ten months now", say Catherine and Nathan in the video released. And now, they add, "they will have to go back and forth without a clear perspective for their future, remaining in a family home for who knows how long." The parents reiterate their request to bring the children home. “We remain convinced of the urgency of returning our precious children to the safety, care and love of their family,” they say. Then the reference to the health of the three children. "We are deeply concerned about their health and well-being," the parents say, claiming that the doctors treating the children have expressed a precise position: "The children's health is at serious risk and the only way to reduce that risk is to bring them home immediately." "All this has been ignored," accuse the parents. The message also addresses the topic of education. "Now they will be enrolled in public school", they explain, "despite the fact that we have presented a detailed home education program, similar to the one followed up to now in family homes". “We believe that this decision does not respect our rights and those of our children,” say Nathan and Catherine. "We will appeal, as required by law." In the appeal, they explain, they will ask "that the health needs of our children and our and their right to home education be taken into consideration".
